Yoga is an ancient practice originating in India that includes guidelines for moral conduct and an aspiration to find the true Self. There are 8 limbs of yoga which every sadakah, yoga practitioner, will observe in order to find the true Self. In hatha yoga our focus is on the physical body and our class work is on the 3rd and 4th limbs of yoga. These are the asana or postures and the pranayama or life energy which we develop through breathing exercises.
The postures, breathing, and focus exercises covered in class build strength, flexibility, and balance while prioritizing safety and rejuvenation. Postures assist the blood and lymph to move which aids the immune system; helping your body ward off unwanted bacteria or viruses that may be lingering as well as putting blood back into every part of your body from head to toe.
